Brasserie C, located in Brussels, has evolved and modernized over the years. François, co-founder of this craft brewery, shares his experience of the digital transformation of his business with Odoo, a flexible and scalable ERP. Here is an overview of the challenges the brewery faced and how Odoo has contributed to smoother and more efficient management of its operations. 


From Creation to Growth: A Brewery on the Rise


Twelve years ago, François and his partner Ronan launched Brasserie C with an ambitious entrepreneurial project, backed by their training in agronomy. Their passion for craft beer led to the creation of a brewery where rigor and creativity blend to offer high-quality products. After starting in a garage, the brewery quickly grew and settled in an iconic location in Brussels. 

Like many growing businesses, managing operations became increasingly complex, requiring a solution to optimize production, inventory management, and sales tracking.

The Need for an ERP: Why Odoo?


As Brasserie C grew, François and Ronan noticed their management tools were becoming outdated. Initially, they used Excel to manage inventory and traceability, but this manual method was no longer sufficient, especially with multiple production sites. 

“The main challenge was knowing exactly what we had in stock, both in finished products and raw materials,” explains François. “Before, we were five days behind in understanding the status of our inventory.” This situation prompted the brewery to look for a solution more suited to its needs. 

The search for an ERP began, and after exploring different options, François and Ronan chose Odoo. This choice was driven by several key factors: flexibility, scalability, and the ability to adapt the software to their specific needs.

“Odoo allows us to invest gradually, selecting applications based on our budget and needs,” François points out. “The scalability, regular updates, and customization options were major advantages for us.” 


Digitizing Production and Inventory Management


One of the first areas where Brasserie C used Odoo was inventory management. “We started with inventory management because it was crucial for us to have a real-time view of stock levels,” says François. 

 The ERP allowed the brewery to track stock in real time and better manage product traceability, a crucial element in the food industry. Production management was also simplified: each stage of beer production, from ingredient assembly to bottling, is now tracked using Odoo.

“Thanks to Odoo, we can see in real time how much has been produced and adjust our stock levels based on daily production. This has simplified our processes tremendously,” François shares. 


Production Monitoring and Reporting


One of the major benefits brought by the integration of Odoo is the ability to monitor production more accurately with KPIs (key performance indicators). “Before, we didn’t know exactly where there were inefficiencies in our production,” explains François. “Today, thanks to Odoo, we can track the yield of each batch and identify potential anomalies.” 

This has allowed Brasserie C to improve productivity and optimize resources. In addition to production management, the ERP now generates detailed reports, giving the team a clearer view of the company’s performance. 


Customization and Continuous Evolution


François also emphasizes that the customization of the tool has been essential to meet the specific needs of the brewery. “Initially, we implemented modules for inventory management, accounting, and sales. But over time, we’ve added new features, such as managing meals at the brewery and tracking marketing budgets for our clients,” he explains. 

Brasserie C continues to evolve its use of Odoo, integrating new modules and refining its management processes. “Odoo is a living tool. Just like our business, it’s constantly evolving,” concludes François.

Today, thanks to Odoo, Brasserie C enjoys an integrated management system, transitioning from a manual setup to a powerful digital tool that tracks production, inventory, and sales in real time. Information is now centralized, allowing the team to make informed decisions, save time, and improve the company’s efficiency. 

“We’ve really digitalized the whole company. Before, we were using Excel, and now we have total visibility of our business,” François says.
